Description	:	Goldie L. Butcher, 81, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2007, in Willmar, Minn., following a very brief illness. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Wesley United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dan Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. She married Clarence Butcher on Aug. 17, 1946, in South Sioux City. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and very active in many church groups. She also was a member of the Teamsters Retiree. She liked to fish and play cards. She was a big fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes' basketball team and the Chicago Cubs. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Clarence Butcher of Sioux City; a son and his wife, Dennis and Deanna Butcher of Sioux City; two daughters and their husbands, Joyce and Leary Smith of Sergeant Bluff and Gloria and Gary Petersen of Sioux City; a brother and his wife, Edward and Lila Beazley of Correctionville, Iowa; a sister, Donna Joseph of Sioux City; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Paul and Donald; a sister, Julia; and two grandsons, Scott Smith and Tom Butcher. Pallbearers will be Steve Smith, Joel Butcher, Jeff Butcher, Dennis Wilds, Travis Delperdang and Tom Butcher. Honorary pallbearers will be her two grandsons who already entered into heaven, Scott Smith and Tom Butcher. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Wesley United Methodist Church.
