Description : Gordon A. Strasburg was born in Hand County, South Dakota in 1927, the only child of Albert & Hester (Linn)Strasburg. He attended rural grade school and graduated from Miller High School in 1945.

On October 17, 1948, Gordon married Betty (Heinzerling), daughter of J.W. "Bill" & Louise (Bingham) Heinzerling, at the Sunbeam Church. He and Betty farmed the Strasburg home place,following his father's death. There they raised a family of four sons and one daughter.

Gordon was recognized as an Outstanding Farmer in Hand County in 1971.
