The years 1946 to 1974 were spent dairy farming near Jamestown, ND, and Perham, MN. From 1971 to 1988 he worked at Veterans Hospital, until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Agnes, Fargo; son Ronald (Nancy) Hartvikson, Thompson, ND; 3 daughters, Linda (Jim) Sorenson, DeQueen, AR, Roberta (Lyle) Overby, Jamestown, ND, and Ann (Rick) Overby, West Fargo, ND; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Arthur (Lorraine) Hartvikson, Sardis,B.C., and Hjalmer Hartvikson, Bottineau, ND; one sister, Rubelle (Howard) Tefre, Plentywood, MT; and a sister-in-law, Eileen Hartvikson, Seattle, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald, Seattle, WA; two sisters, Adelaide (Elmer) Braasch, Minot, ND, and Helen (Stan) Aarestad, Watertown, SD.
