Gordon was born February 6, 1922 in Elnora, Alberta, the third son born to Mary and William Howard. Gordon was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Ed, Roy and John. Read More	Gordon Ray Howard passed away February 13, 2010 at the Rosefield Centre in Innisfail with his family by his side. Gordon was born February 6, 1922 in Elnora, Alberta, the third son born to Mary and William Howard. Gordon was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, Ed, Roy and John. Gordon was also predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Muriel in 1991 and wife Jean in 2007 as well as Granddaughter Melissa in 1975. Gordon is survived by his brother; his four children and their families, ten Grandchildren and five Great Grandchildren. Gordon farmed for most of his life, first with his parents and brothers on the family homestead in the Mount Pleasant District. After his marriage to Muriel in 1948, they farmed many different places including, Carstairs, Acme and Raven. In 1961 they acquired their beloved Valleyhome Farm in the Kneehill Valley area. There they raised their four children and created a home and yard envied by many. After Muriel's retirement in 1986, they fulfilled a lifelong dream with a trip to Australia and New Zealand. Other travels included trips to Hawaii, California and Alaska. Sadly, Muriel passed away in 1991. Gordon remained on the farm for a few years then eventually moved to Innisfail due to health problems. In 1999 Gordon married Jean, an old flame from his younger years. Jean passed away in 2007. Gordon then moved to the Country Lodge in Innisfail and recently to Rosefield Centre. Gordon was a gentleman right to the end. He loved to tease, as many of us can attest to. He loved to fish and also became an accomplished wood worker. However, to him, his family was his greatest accomplishment and he cherished visits from his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all. A Memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Innisfail United Church. Memorial donations may be made to the Rosefield Centre, Innisfail Hospital Palliative Care or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
