He came to Washington from Minnesota, riding on a boxcar, in 1939. He settled in Pateros, where he met his wife of 61 years, Audrey Schaller, on the 4th of July, 1947. He was born August 6, 1917, in Wabasso, MN. He came to Washington from Minnesota, riding on a boxcar, in 1939. He settled in Pateros, where he met his wife of 61 years, Audrey Schaller, on the 4th of July, 1947. They were married December 16, 1947, and together they raised a family of four children, Dennis, Vickie, Debbie and Lori. Gordon spent over 50 years working for Neff Orchards. He oversaw many different projects, from shipping and receiving of fruit, to carpentry and more. He retired at the age of 75. Gordon was well known for his carpentry skills. He built the home he and Audrey lived in the past 31 years. He built the home in evenings after work and on weekends and they moved in three years after he started. He helped his children and friends with many building projects. Gordon was also known for the beautiful yard that he kept, that looked like a park. Two family weddings were held in his yard. It wasn't unusual for strangers to stop and ask to take pictures in his yard or to pick the lilacs. Gordon was proud of his family. He is survived by his wife, Audrey, of the family home; son, Dennis Georgius of Pateros; daughters, Vicki Peters (Bob) of Nampa, ID, Debbie McDonald of Pateros and Lori Brauchla (Bill) of Pateros; four grandchildren, Crystal Miller-Smith, Malee Shiflett, Ryan Brauchla and Calder Brauchla; four great-grandchildren, Aleeka Smith, Colby Shiflett, Madison Shiflett and Ethan Shiflett; brothers, Donald Georgius of Wabasso, MN and Duane Georgius of Minneapolis, MN; and sisters, Lorraine Lee of Valley Springs, SD, and Verna Mae O'Brien of Eden Prairie, MN. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. A Tribute Service took place Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at Barnes Chapel, Brewster, with Rev. John Mustoe officiating. Private Interment will be at Pateros Cemetery. Memorials, in his name, may be made to the Pateros Cemetery. There will be No Visitation. Services have been entrusted to Barnes Chapel, Brewster.
