Born in Middleton, he was the eldest son of Lorna (Allen) Crouse and the late Aubrey William Crouse Jr. He was recently retired from O.H. Armstrong Ltd., Kingston, after 35 years. Gordon was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, four-wheeling and nature in general. He was a member of the Annapolis Valley Cruisers. Since retiring, Gordon spent many hours working in his woodshop, crafting and building for his frields and family. His dependability and loyal nature were constant - he was always there to lend a hand or stand quietly by your side. He leaves behind his common-law wife, Beverley Dugan, Auburn; his loving daughter, Kelly Crouse, South Farmington; extended family, Steven and Amanda Baker, Auburn; brothers, James (Irene), Westmeath, Ont.; David (Allan Clark), South Williamston; Norman (Mary), Torbrook Mines; Ainsley, Torbrook Mines; sisters, Pauline (Paul) Davis, Nictaux; Marlene (Mark) Veinotte, Nictaux; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 30 years, Betty (Mapplebeck) Crouse. Gordon will be sadly missed. He has enriched many lives. He was “Our Rock.” Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Thursday, January 10, in Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St. (902) 825-3448, where the funeral service will be held 2p.m. Friday, January 11, Rev. Bill McLeod officiating. Private family interment will be in Torbrook Mines United Cemetery, By request, family flowers only.
