Description	:	MONTEBELLO — Gorman L. Bryant, 59, of Montebello, passed away Friday, April 17, 2009, at his home. Born Nov. 27, 1949, in Montebello, he was a son of the late Melvin Zirkle and Lois Helen Bradley Bryant. Mr. Bryant was associated with Mt. Paran Baptist Church and was a maintenance and construction worker for the National Park Service. He had a great love of children and enjoyed gardening, farming and the companionship of his dog, Tucker. Read More	MONTEBELLO — Gorman L. Bryant, 59, of Montebello, passed away Friday, April 17, 2009, at his home. Born Nov. 27, 1949, in Montebello, he was a son of the late Melvin Zirkle and Lois Helen Bradley Bryant. Mr. Bryant was associated with Mt. Paran Baptist Church and was a maintenance and construction worker for the National Park Service. He had a great love of children and enjoyed gardening, farming and the companionship of his dog, Tucker. In addition to his parents, three brothers: Glenwood, Edgar and Bobby Bryant; and one sister, Christine Bryant, preceded Gorman in death. Survivors include a son, David Bryant of Montebello; a stepson, Billy Campbell of Connecticut; three sisters, Frances Rowe of Stuarts Draft, Betty Roberts of Montebello and Phyllis Myrtle of Raphine; two brothers, Windell and Milton Bryant of Montebello; and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Mt. Paran Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Coffey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Gorman's nephews: Ronnie, Freddie, Kenney, Steven, Ricky and Douglas Bryant, Vernon Rowe, Greg Roberts and Philip Myrtle. Nieces will serve as honorary pallbearers. Friends may call at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes on Monday between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. or anytime at the home of Phyllis Myrtle, 3751 Cold Springs Road, Raphine. The family also will receive friends at the church on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service.
