Deceased was a native of Fin kenstein, Germany, and carne out in the ship Lammeshagen in 1877. He leaves a widow und 10 children-five sons and five daughters-whose ages range from 2 to 20 years. The funeral took place on Fri- day afternoon, and was very largely at- tended, chiefly by residents of the Island Plantation. The pall-bearers were Messrs. Voss, Sommerfeld, Rasmussen, and Baum gardt. The Rev. T. Frank officiated at the graveside.
