Mr Gottlib Whittenbaugh was born in Swaitchburg, Kentoberg, Switzerland, June 18, 1848,and died in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sidney Jennings, Nov.16, 1911 aged 63 years, 5 months, and 28 days having been preceeded by his companion to the future world about five years. Mr Gottlib Whittenbaugh was born in Swaitchburg, Kentoberg, Switzerland, June 18, 1848,and died in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Sidney Jennings, Nov.16, 1911 aged 63 years, 5 months, and 28 days having been preceeded by his companion to the future world about five years. In the spring of 1867 he was married to Miss Mary Zingg. They imigrated to this country in the year 1880 settling near Wadena where they had sinced lived. Mr. Whittenbaugh was brought up in the Luthern faith and was confirmed at the proper age and became a member of the Germen Luthern and lived a consistent member of that church. He leaves three boys, seven girls and twenty two grand children and a large circle of friend to mourn his departure. His funeral services were conducted by J.S.Moore at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 19 at the Union church, Wadena, Iowa. The funeral discourse was delivered from the 14 chapter of Job. The choir service was conducted by the Illyria choir consisting of Miss Amy Richard,organist, Miss Mary Foxwell, Mrs Edith Richard, Mr. Stephen Foxwell and Mr. Wallace Peters singers. They rendered approate musical service in the use of the songs as follows: Better farther on, When my work is finished Heaven is my home. The casket was born by the following parties: J.E.Jennings, J.Kennedey, E.Gornand, Z.Davis, H.Kuhens,and G. Krebbs. The Schmidt family of Fayette and two daughters, Miss Leona and Miss Emma Whittenbaugh of St. Paul Minn were present. A large number of relatives near Wadena were present and large circle of friends were also present. The remains were taken to the Wadena cemetery to rest until the great day of the resurrection when all shall come forth to newness of life. The soul of affliction to linger no more. Now simply at rest on the ever green.
