Description	:	Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, March 17, 1987, from the United Brethren Church in Wadena for Mrs. Mary Jennings with Rev. Wm. Follmer and Rev John Smith conducting the services. Burial was in Wadena cemetery. Mary Anna Whittenbaugh daughter of Gottlieb and Anna Marie Whittenbaugh, was born Feb 26, 1878 near Bern Switzerland. She came to this country with her parents and family when she was about two years old. The family lived in a log house one-half mile west of Wadena from where Mr. Whittenbaugh worked many years for the railroad. She attended school in Wadena,Ia.... Mary Anna Whittenbaugh daughter of Gottlieb and Anna Marie Whittenbaugh, was born Feb 26, 1878 near Bern Switzerland. She came to this country with her parents and family when she was about two years old. The family lived in a log house one-half mile west of Wadena from where Mr. Whittenbaugh worked many years for the railroad. She attended school in Wadena,Ia. then worked different places in the area until her marriage on April ll, 1897 to Sidney M. Jennings, also of Wadena, Ia. They farmed near Wadena, Ia. until his death January 20, 1943. She then worked for several years caring for sick and elderly people until her age and health forced her to discontinue. She then made her home for years on the home farm near Wadena, Ia. before moving into a mobile home in Wadena, where she died March 25, 1967 at the age of 89 years. She was a faithful church goer and taught Sunday School for many years. Her parents, six sisters four brothers and her husband preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Keith and Russell, both of Wadena, Ia.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
