Description	:	Grace Dell was a member of the pioneer Pinkham family and the only daughter and youngest child of Martha Knowles and Walter Hilton Pinkham, Grace Dell was a member of the Trinidad women's club, "The Trinidad Belles", along with her mother Martha. On May 18, 1902 she married Burr Peyton McConnaha, Jr., in Arcata. Although childless, they helped raise their nephew, Melvin George "Pinkey" Pinkham, whose father had died in 1912. She was secretary for the Humboldt Motor Stages for many years which her husband, B.P., Jr., owned and operated. Grace was very interested and active in the Camp Fire Girls of Arcata and the Y.W.C.A. She was a member of the Eureka Women's Club, the Humboldt Historical Society and Trinidad Civic Club. She was survived by her husband Burr Peyton McConnaha, Jr.; three nephews, Melvin George Pinkham of Eureka, Burr McConnaha of San Carlos; William Chaffey McConnaha of Blue Lake; two nieces, Mrs. Pauline Alpha (Pinkham) Mahoney of Newport, Oregon; Mrs. Greta Marie (McConnaha) Taynton of Eureka; three sister-in-laws, Mrs. Rose Eva (Kasch) McConnaha of Arcata; Mrs. Charlotte "Lottie" (Riecke) Pinkham-Harrington of Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Margaret (Tack) McConnaha of Arcata; and a very devoted friend, Mrs. Emma Cougle of Eureka. Funeral services were held on Monday, November 28, 1955 at the Pierce Mortuary in Eureka with the Rev. James P. Senter Officiating. Inurnment was at Sunset Memorial Park (Columbarium).
