Description	:	Grace M. Dixon, 83 Grace M Dixon, 83, died Sunday at Vista Gardens Nursing Home after an extenced illness. She was a retired school teacher and former co-worker and operator of Dixon's Variety Store, Emerson. Services are today at 2 p.m. at Nelson-Boylan Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Larry Fiscus officating and burial in Salem Cemetery. Eastern Star services were held at the funeral chapel Tuesday night. She was a 1910(?) graduate of Red Oak High School and attended Kansas State Teachers College at Emporia, Iowa State Teachers College branch at Shenandoah, University of Colorado and University of Omaha. She taught five years in Montgomery county and 35 years in Mills County, usually third and fourth grades. She retired from teaching in 1960 when she became a partner in Dixon's Variety Store. She was a member of First United Methodist Church at Emerson and member of the order of Eastern Star at Emerson, becoming a 50 year member in 1981. She also was a member of White Shrine of Jerusalem in Shenandoah and Emerson Women's club. Her closest survivor is a nephew.
