Description	:	Mrs. Grace Scofield, native of Santa Cruz and member of a pioneer family, died at 8:30 p. m. Friday, December 7, in Watsonville. Mrs. Scofield, who had been seriously ill for two months, had been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. A. P. Babcock. Read More	Mrs. Grace Scofield, native of Santa Cruz and member of a pioneer family, died at 8:30 p. m. Friday, December 7, in Watsonville. Mrs. Scofield, who had been seriously ill for two months, had been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. A. P. Babcock. Born in Santa Cruz June 10, 1870, Grace Gourley attended the local grammar and high schools and following her marriage to R. L. Scofield, lived here until about 15 years ago when she and her late husband moved to Watsonville. Mr. Scofield passed away about four years ago. Mrs. Scofield was a member of the pioneer Santa Cruz families of Huntington, Anthony and Pringle. Mrs. Scofield was a member of Santa Cruz Chapter Order of Eastern Star and was a member of the War Mothers of Santa Cruz, transferring to the Watsonville War Mothers when she moved there and she served as corresponding secretary for the Watsonville group. Nine Children Left to mourn her are four daughters and five sons: Mrs. John Murray of Sacramento, James B. Scofield of Santa Cruz, Mrs. Sara Savage of San Mateo, Lewis A. Scofield of New Orleans, R. Leland Scofield of Los Angeles, Mrs. A. P. Babcock of Watsonville, Jessie G. Scofield of Tulare, Morris Scofield of Watsonville and Mrs. Robert DeLeon of Hollywood; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Smith and Miss Jessie Gourley of Santa Cruz; and one brother, Asa Gourley of San Francisco: 12 grandchildren, six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at White's funeral home in Watsonville Monday. December 10 at 2 o'clock p. in. and graveside services will be held at the Oakwood cemetery, Santa Cruz at 3 p.m. on Monday. Friends and acquaintances are invited to attend.
