OBITUARY - ALTOONA HERALD, MARCH 22, 1928 Mrs. Chas. Jamieson Dies Suddenly at Home Mrs. Chas Jamieson, who has been in poor health, died here very suddenly last Friday while sitting in her chair at home. Her sister, Mrs. Frank Barton had been visiting with her and stepped from the room and returned in a very short time to find her dead. She has had heart trouble for several years. Mrs. Grace Arrowood Jamieson was born in Altoona, Iowa, July 27, 1882 and passed away at her home here, March 16, 1928 at the age of 45 yrs., 7 months and 19 days. She united with the Altoona Church of Christ, March 27, 1897 when but 15 yrs. old. On October 24, 1900 she was joined in marriage to Charles N. Jamieson and to this union were born 3 children' Mrs. Ralph Rennpage of Richville, Minnesota; Mrs. Glen Clay and Nellie Jamieson both of Altoona. Mrs. Jamieson moved with the family to Dent, Minnesota in April 1909, where the family made their home until April 1926 when they moved back to Altoona on account of Mrs. Jamieson being in very poor health, which has kept her practically confined to her home since that time. It can truly be said that she was of a kind and loving disposition and loved by all who knew her. She also was a devoted christian mother that took an interest in her home, The Holy of Holies, ever looking to the welfare of that family circle. she leave to mourn her loss, her husband , Chas N. Jamieson and 3 daughters, Mrs. Ralph Rennpage of Richville, Minnesota; Mrs. Glen Clay and Nellie Jamieson, both of Altoona, Iowa; also 2 sisters, Mrs. Frank Barton and Mrs. C. M. Davis, both of Altoona and a host of relatives and friends. The funeral services was held Monday afternoon, March 19, at 2 o'clock from the Church of Christ, conducted by the pastor, Rev. R.R. Marken after which the body was laid to rest in the Altoona cemetery. It was evening just a twilight When the sun was sinking low, And she left us all to go That was when her Savior called her Since she's left us, how we miss her We will miss her more and more But we know she's only waiting Over on the other shore. She has shared life's joys and sorrows All along these many years Then her hands were peacefully folded And she left us all in tears. In our home one place is vacant And we miss her smiling face Friends and neighbors come to help us But no one can fill her place All is dark within our dwelling Lonely are our hears today For the one we loved so dearly Has forever passed away -------------- CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank the friends and neighbors for thier kindly assistance and words of sympathy extended at the death and burial of wife, mother and sister. - C.N.
