Description	:	Grace R. Parde, 92, of Adams, died at Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams on Wednesday morning, September 3, 2008. She was born on July 28, 1916, at rural Adams and attended Hooker Country School. She was married to Louis Parde on February 24, 1938, at the Zion Lutheran Church parsonage at rural Pickrell, and they lived and farmed at various locations in Lancaster, Gage, Johnson and Otoe counties before moving to Burr. Parde, 92, of Adams, died at Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams on Wednesday morning, September 3, 2008. She was born on July 28, 1916, at rural Adams and attended Hooker Country School. She was married to Louis Parde on February 24, 1938, at the Zion Lutheran Church parsonage at rural Pickrell, and they lived and farmed at various locations in Lancaster, Gage, Johnson and Otoe counties before moving to Burr. She did babysitting in Burr, cleaned the Lutheran Church, taught Sunday School, sang in the church choir, and was a member of the quilting group. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church of Adams and several Extension clubs. She always had a large garden and enjoyed traveling and visiting her grandchildren. Survivors include four sons, Orville Parde and wife Doris of Adams, Merlin Parde and wife Franki of Arlington, Virginia, Clarence Parde and wife Faith of Sterling and Dennis Parde and wife Janoa of Salmon, Idaho; two daughters, Carolyn Iverson and husband Jon of Sioux City, Iowa, and Donna Walter and husband Chuck of Lexington, Kentucky; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; seven brothers, Harm Harms and wife Jaye, Jerry Harms and wife Elaine, Willie Harms and wife Norma, Eddie Harms and wife Millie, Louie Harms and wife Janet, Kenneth Harms and wife Dodie, Robert Harms and wife Dorothy; one sister, Edna Brethouwer; one brother-in-law, Kenneth Parde and wife Irene; four sisters-in-law, Lenora Parde, Leona Parde, Joyce Harms and Marlene Harms; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Adeline Schmidt Harms, her stepmother, Mabel Harms; her husband, Louis; two grandsons, Darin Parde, and one who died in infancy; three brothers, Marvin, John and LeRoy Harms; two sisters, Tena Parde, and an infant sister, Adeline Elizabeth Harms. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2008, at the American Lutheran Church of Adams, with Pastor John Brink officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Hope Lutheran Cemetery of Burr. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 a.m. Saturday in the fellowship room at the church. A memorial has been established to the family's choice with the Fox Funeral Home in charge. The body will lie in state at Gold Crest Retirement Center in Adams on Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.; at the Fox Funeral Home of Adams from noon until 9 p.m. Friday; and then at the church one hour preceding the service on Saturday.
