Description	:	Minneapolis Messenger, April 14, 1955, page 1, col.1: Grant Prushafer, a resident of Ottawa county for many years, died at his home in Ada on Wednesday, April 6, at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 10 days. He was born in Warren county, Illinois, on Nov. 26, 1868, a son of Fritz and Johanna Post Prushafer. When a young man he united with the United Brethren Church, in Monmouth, Illinois. He was born in Warren county, Illinois, on Nov. 26, 1868, a son of Fritz and Johanna Post Prushafer. When a young man he united with the United Brethren Church, in Monmouth, Illinois. He came to Kansas in 1910 and established a livery business at Canton. Later he engaged in the rooming house business and hotel business at Minneapolis and again at Colorado Springs, Colo. On April 20, 1916, he was married to Lyda White and for several years they engaged in farming in the vicinity of Ada. Mr. Prushafer had been in poor health for many years and due to an accident had been a cripple for the past six years. He is survived by his wife and by many friends. Services were held at the Ada Baptist Church on Saturday, April 9, with the Rev. Edward Jorden officiating. Music was singing by Mrs. R.G. Shafer and Mrs. Harold Mountain, with Mrs. Eugene Mullen at the piano. Pallbearers were Everett Bradbury, Henry Baccus, Harry Drake, Dewey Marsell, Clyde Hogarty and Fred Sidener. Burial was made in Fairview cemetery. (also) Ada -- Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Tipton of Goldon, Colo. and J.P. White of Union, Oregon were called here on account of the death of Grant Prushafer. Mrs. Prushafer is Mr. White's sister.
