Description	:	Grant William Kincaid was born January 16, 1867 in Adams county, Ohio and in 1873 went with his parents to Washington county, Kansas, later moving to Clay county in 1881. In 1888 he was united in marriage to Anna Cox, six children being born to this union, two of whom died in their infancy. In 1890 he moved to Oklahoma but after a short residence there returned to Clay county to reside on his father's farm. Read More	Grant William Kincaid was born January 16, 1867 in Adams county, Ohio and in 1873 went with his parents to Washington county, Kansas, later moving to Clay county in 1881. In 1888 he was united in marriage to Anna Cox, six children being born to this union, two of whom died in their infancy. In 1890 he moved to Oklahoma but after a short residence there returned to Clay county to reside on his father's farm. Twelve years ago he moved into Clay Center and for a number of years was engaged in the oil business, traveling a part of the time. About three years ago, with Eli Largent as a partner, he purchased the furniture stock, formerly known as the Phillip store, but later Mr. Largent selling his interest to E. E. Hoopes, the business became known as the Kincaid and Hoopes store. Mr. Kincaid died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1914, at the Clay Center hospital, where he was brought last week after an attack of appendicitis. He is survived by his wife; four children, Mrs. Herbert Peterson of Brainerd, Minnesota; Miss Martha, Will and Wayne at home; three brothers, O. E. Kincaid of this city; Dr. Frank Kincaid of Beloit and John Kincaid of Colton, Oklahoma; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Kuhn of Colorado and Miss Nellie of Cast, California. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the First M. E. church, members of the Masons and U. C. T. orders acting as pallbearers. Masonic rites followed at Greenwood cemetery.
