He was born August 15, 1919 to Casper James Jacobs and Veronica C. (Stegman) Jacobs at Sheridan, Wyoming. Read More	IDAHO FALLS, ID - Gregory Matthias Jacobs, 84, of Idaho Falls, died November 30, 2003, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of complications from diabetes. He was born August 15, 1919 to Casper James Jacobs and Veronica C. (Stegman) Jacobs at Sheridan, Wyoming. When he was 8 years old, they moved to Laurel, Montana and a year later to Billings, Montana where he attended McKinley and later Frat Elementary Schools. He attended Jefferson Junior High and Billings High School. Following graduation, he attended Saint Ambrose College in Davenport, Iowa where he received his BA degree in Liberal Arts. Then he attended Saint Edwards Seminary in Kenmore, Washington for two years. In 1944, he joined the U. S. Navy and served as a Ships Serviceman B, Third Class, during World War II. Following the war, he continued his education and received his Master's Degree in Social Work from Saint Louis University. On December 28, 1950, he married Mildred Cecelia Mohr in Billings, Montana. He worked as the Director of Social Services at Warm Springs State Hospital for nearly 30 years. While at Warm Springs, he was instrumental in several state laws regarding the care and treatment of the mentally ill and the licensure of treatment professionals. After retiring in 1981, he managed Cameo Studio in Anaconda, Montana for several years. He was a devout Roman Catholic with a great love for the gospel. He was active member of in the Knights of Columbus where he had served as Grand Knight, he also was a Past Exalted Ruler of the BPO Elks. He enjoyed rock hounding, camping, photography, painting, and crossword puzzles. Surviving are: Son Paul Gerard Jacobs, daughter-in-law Lea Annelle (Urbach) Jacobs, two grandchildren Veronica Cecelia Jacobs, and Samuel Gregory Jacobs, two step-grandchildren Nathan Dean Nef and Lisa Ann Nef, all of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and two brother-in-laws, Raymond Ellery Michels of Laurel, Montana and Glenn James Tjeltveit of Reno Nevada. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, stepfather Sidney Frank Weichert, son Gregory Casper Jacobs, and four sisters Magdalen Roseland (James) Howard, Eileen Elizabeth Jacobs, Louise Mary (Raymond) Michels, and Marian Petronella (Glenn) Tjeltveit. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2003, at Longfellow-Finnegan Funeral Home, 107 Oak Street, Anaconda, Montana. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mr. Olivet Cemetery in Anaconda, Montana under the direction of Longfellow-Finnegan Funeral Home. Local arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave., in Idaho Falls, ID
