Description	:	Mrs. Grova A. Scherr of 312 Delaware Ave. died Tuesday at home after a short illness. A graduate of the State Normal School, then in Ripley, she taught in the Grapevine area of Kanawha County in 1910. She attended Ohio University and graduated from Ohio State University. She also taught at Rollins College in Winter Haven, Fla. She was a member of the Charleston Civic Chorus and sang in the Messiah concert for 40 years including the 1981 production two weeks ago. A graduate of the State Normal School, then in Ripley, she taught in the Grapevine area of Kanawha County in 1910. She attended Ohio University and graduated from Ohio State University. She also taught at Rollins College in Winter Haven, Fla. She was a member of the Charleston Civic Chorus and sang in the Messiah concert for 40 years including the 1981 production two weeks ago. She was a 57-year member of Boyd Memorial Christian Church and a member of Fisher Memorial Church, Pleasant View Church, West Side Woman's Club, Kanawha Trail Club, Farm Woman's Club and the Republican Woman's Club. She was a horse breeder. Surviving: son, Edwin G. Jr. of Sanford, Fla.; daughters, Amelia Scherr of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Robert Trost of Charleston; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Service will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Fisher Memorial Church, Goldtown with Clarence Edens and Shirley Hammack officiating. Burial will be in Koontz-Scherr Family Cemetery, Goldtown. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Wilson Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to service.
