Description	:	Gudrun Marie Hoiland, 83, passed away Monday, January 22, 1996 in the Pioneer Medical Center in Big Timber. She was born on May 18, 1912 in Aalgaard-Sokendal, Norway, the daughter of Albert and Gemalia Algard. In 1923 she came with her family to the United States, living in Minnesota and California before moving to Big Timber in March of 1925. She made her home here ever since then. Read More	Gudrun Marie Hoiland, 83, passed away Monday, January 22, 1996 in the Pioneer Medical Center in Big Timber. She was born on May 18, 1912 in Aalgaard-Sokendal, Norway, the daughter of Albert and Gemalia Algard. In 1923 she came with her family to the United States, living in Minnesota and California before moving to Big Timber in March of 1925. She made her home here ever since then. She was married to Elling Hoiland in Big Timber on January 22, 1929. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Elmer and Gary; brothers, Ben, Arthur and Sam and sisters Ruth and Olga. She is survived by four daughters, Jennie Luttschwager of Big Timber, Adeline and husband Leonard Mahlum of Helena, Bernice Hillaker of Citrus Heights, California and Joan and husband Jim Ingram of Allen, Texas; three sisters, Gladys Aalgaard and Marie Algard, both of Big Timber and Esther Boe of Lavina,; a brother, Hans of Helena; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held Thursday, January 25 at the Big Timber Lutheran Church with the Rev. James Holmlund officiating. Vocalist was heather Fjare accompanied by Debbie Arlian. Selections were "De Store Hvide Flok" and "What a Friend We Have In Jesus". Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery with casket beraers John Aalgaard, Hilmar Cook, Jerry Hauge, Ron Hauge, Jim Esp and Norm Starr.
