Mr. Burgman was born in Sweden May 29, 1970, and was the eldest of a family of five children. He served in the Swedish army under King Gustav and was also a member of the Swedish Lutheran church in Stanton. In 1898, he came to America and settled near Stanton, later removing to Villisca where he was employed at the old electric light plant. He was also employed at county field work several years. He was married in Red Oak to Marie Louise Peterson of near Stanton and to them were born two children, Lloyd who is now in the armed services overseas and Floyd of Clayton, Wash. His wife preceded him in death several years ago. Besides his sons, he leaves a grandson. Russell Dean who makes his home in the Sam Gardner home.
