She died in Blair, Nebraska, at the age of 87 years, and is buried in the Fish lot at Fairview. - - - Obituary Papillion Times June 24, 1915 Death of Guy Fish - - Guy Fish died Monday in the Methodist Hospital in Omaha where he had been taken just a week before for treatment. He suffered a partial paralytic stroke several weeks ago, having been found in a helpless condition in the field where he had been working. He was given the best of medical treatment but all remedies failed. A postmortem examination showed that he had a large tumor on the brain which caused his death. Guy Fish was born February 2, 1877, near Springfield, where he spent all his life with the exception of a few years spent in New York. He was united in marriage to Miss Helen Ellis, of Springfield, November 8, 1899, and to this union two children, a boy and girl, were born, who with his widow survive. He is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Fish, of Springfield, and by two brothers, Frank Fish, of Santa Barbara, California, and H.O Hamilton, deputy sheriff, of Papillion. The funeral was held this afternoon at 1 o'clock, from the Congregational Church in Springfield, Rev. Toms, of Omaha, conducting the last sad rites. The funeral services were in charge of the M.W. of A. (Modern Woodmen of America), of which the deceased was a prominent official, and interment was in Fairview Cemetery. The deceased was held in highest regard by all who knew him. He was a devoted husband and a loving and kind father, as well as a true friend and neighbor. The sympathy of all is extended to the bereaved wife, children, parents and other relatives. - - Notes: Date of birth in obituary is 2 Feb. Headstone has 5 Feb. Guy's brother, H.O. Hamilton, was Herbert Hamilton, the son of his mother's first marriage.
