Description	:	McCURDY, GUY CLARENCE—Guy Clarence McCurdy, son of Charlotte Stainbrook and William McCurdy, was born November 26, 1898, on the family farm southeast of Ohiowa in Franklin township. On November 26, 1924, he was united in marriage to Lillian E. Matejka and to this union was born one son, Valjean, now of Denver, Col. Until retirement in 1965, he and his wife operated the family farm. Read More	McCURDY, GUY CLARENCE—Guy Clarence McCurdy, son of Charlotte Stainbrook and William McCurdy, was born November 26, 1898, on the family farm southeast of Ohiowa in Franklin township. On November 26, 1924, he was united in marriage to Lillian E. Matejka and to this union was born one son, Valjean, now of Denver, Col. Until retirement in 1965, he and his wife operated the family farm. In conjunction with his farming, he did custom work and trucking and was well known with many friends in Fillmore, Saline and adjacent counties. Since retirement he had been living in Geneva. He died November 5, at Geneva at the age of 78 years. Surviving him in addition to his wife, Lillian, are his son and daughter-in-law, Valjean and Donna Lee McCurdy; two grandchildren, Carla Lynn and Christine Lee McCurdy; and one sister, Ruby Greenway of Omaha. He was preceded in death by a brother, Louis, and sisters, Alberta, Blanche, Evelyn, and Bess. Funeral services were conducted from the Farmer & Son funeral home at 2 p.m., Wednesday, November 9, 1977, with Rev. Jay Funk officiating. Larry Nunns sang “How Great Thou Art” and “Take My Hand Precious Lord”, accompanied by Mrs. Norval Lomax, organist. Pallbearers were Wesley Cradduck, Harold Moravec, Ed Franzen, Henry Nedza, Vernon Krupicka and Willard Schelbitzki. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
