Description	:	The funeral was held Tuesday Feb. 25th at 2 p.m. in the United Methodist Church, Kenmare, for Guy M. Johnsen, age 84, who died on Friday, Feb. 21st in the Kenmare Nursing Home. Rev. Mark Bittner officiated at the services, Mrs. Sue Johnsen was organist and Mrs. Sherrie Bittner was soloist. Casketbearers were Paul Wirtz, Jim Nelson, Berlin Ankenbauer, Curtis Gissel, Herman Hansen and Mike Gregoire. Honorary Casketbearers were Harold Lindblad, Roy Christianson, Francis Gissel, Don Norrie, Leonard Parkinson, Bennie Christianson, Otto Folkers and Alvin Stroklund. Mr. Johnsen was born on April 21, 1901, in Kenmare Township, Ward County, North Dakota, a son of the late John C. and Thora Johnsen. He was raised there on the family farm. On June 30, 1932, in Minot, he married the former Gladys Donnelly. They farmed in Kenmare Township, Ward County, all of their married life. He retired in 1970, but remained on the family farm. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Kenmare, and served on the Kenmare Township Board for many years. Mr. Johnsen also was a member of the Kenmare Hospital Board and the Kenmare School Board for a number of years. He held membership in the Masonic Bodies at Kenmare for over 50 years and was a 32nd Degree Mason, and was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, and also belonged to the Senior Citizens at Kenmare. Surviving are his wife, Gladys; one daughter, Mrs. Ellis (Joan) Christianson of Kenmare; two sons, Donald of Thief River Falls, MN, and Lyle of Mohall; 9 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; brother, Melvin J. Johnsen of Everett, WA, and sister, Maebelle Goode of Seattle. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. From the scrapbook of Lillian Lundgren Zeltinger who passed away in 1997.
