He was born September 12, 1944 in Ottumwa, Iowa to D.J. and Kathryn Kauzlarich Fisher. He married Judy A. Randall July 2, 1966 in Ottumwa, Iowa. He served in the United States Air Force from 1963-67. He worked for the Ottumwa Police Department as a officer for many years, retiring in 1988. He was also employed as a jailer for Wapello Co. Sheriff Office. He owned and operated Fisher Cartage Co. He coached Pee-Wee Baseball, was session member for East End Presbyterian Church, fixed and donated toys at Christmas for underprivileged children, and was active in and helped build Soapbox Derby Cars with his 3 children. His favorite pastimes were going to Vegas, watching Pittsburgh Steelers play, hunting, fishing, watching Westerns, Saturday night poker games and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Judy; two sons, Jeff(Clara)Fisher of Fremont and Randy Fisher of Ottumwa; a daughter, Cherie Fisher of Ottumwa; 8 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Zachary, Cheyenna, William, Josh and Jaden Fisher and Tristan and Aidan Winn; a brother Richard L. Fisher of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Lila Fisher; 13 nieces and nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James D. Fisher and Frank A. Fisher; a sister Melinda S. Bogner; a great nephew Wyatt J. Fisher. Funeral services will be 10 am Monday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Charles McCracken officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery with military services conducted by Walter B.Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B.Nelson Post #3 American Legion. Visitation will be open after 11 am Sunday at the funeral home with the family present from 5-7 pm Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to East End Presbyterian Church.
