The Recorder July 1, 1982 Haller Hinkle "Benny" Terry, 76, a retired Monterey businessman, died Saturday morning, June 26, 1982 in University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born Nov. 13, 1905, near Mustoe, son of Howard H. and Sallie Swadley Terry. He was an elder in Monterey Presbyterian Church and was twice a past master of Highland Masonic Lodge 110 and a past district deputy grand master of 19th Masonic District of the Grand ledge of Virginia. The Recorder July 1, 1982 Haller Hinkle "Benny" Terry, 76, a retired Monterey businessman, died Saturday morning, June 26, 1982 in University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born Nov. 13, 1905, near Mustoe, son of Howard H. and Sallie Swadley Terry. He was an elder in Monterey Presbyterian Church and was twice a past master of Highland Masonic Lodge 110 and a past district deputy grand master of 19th Masonic District of the Grand ledge of Virginia. He had served as Highland County commissioner of revenue for 12 years, was a member of Monterey Lions Club, an auctioneer, a real estate broker and insurance salesman. He owned and operated Benny's Auction Sales and was a former owner of Terry's Texaco and Benny's Market. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mabel Hiner Terry of Monterey; two daughters, Mrs. Bertha Jo Caruthers of Burke and Mrs. Donna Bed- well of Mustoe; a son, Steven H. Terry of Laurel, Md.; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Trimble of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Miss Edna Terry of St. Petersburg, Fla.; four granddaughters, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Monday in Monterey Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Sara A. Payne, and burial with masonic rites in Monterey Cemetery.
