The following obituary was handed to us: Hannah Hannibal was born in Denmark on March 9, 1846 and died Febr. 19, 1916, lacking only a few days of being 70 years of age. At the age of ten she came with her parents to America and settled in Wisconsin where she grew to womanhood. In 1871 she moved to Howard county where her father was instrumental in establishing the Danish colony at Dannebrog. On May 16, 1874 she was united in marriage to Mr. Wilhelmsen. To this union seven children were born, six of whom are living. Mrs. Wilhelmsen was one of Howard county's pioneer women through whose trial and endeavor the foundations were laid for the development and progress which she lived to see. In her childhood she became a member of the Episcopalian church and adhered to the principals and ideals of her faith to the end. While Mrs. Wilhelmsen was of a retiring nature and devoted her life to her home and family she was always deeply interested in the progressive movements of the community. On February 13 she was stricken with pneumonia which proved to be of a fatal nature. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband and three sons, Jens A., Louis G., Arthur A., and three daughters, Emma, Laura and Olive, and also a brother, P. M. Hannibal of Dannebrog. And thus has ended a long and useful life. The editor of the News had known Mrs. Wilhelmsen for over forty years, worked for the Wilhelmsens on their farm north of Dannebrog forty years ago and know that Mrs. Wilhelmsen was a model wife and mother and a good house-keeper and although she was quiet, she was a good natured and jolly lady.
