Description	:	May 12, 1899 Chase County Tribune, Imperial, Nebraska Died: At her home in Bussell precinct on Monday, May 8, 1899, from measles, Mrs. R.A. Holmes, aged 53 years, 5 months and 8 days. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Linn, Harmon and Kelso (sic) on Wednesday, after which the remains were interred in the Champion Cemetery. Mrs. Holmes was born near Louisville, Ky. on Dec. 31, 1846, and removed with her parents to Missouri when 8 years of age, and from there to Kansas, where she was married to R.A. Holmes in 1868. Holmes, aged 53 years, 5 months and 8 days. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Linn, Harmon and Kelso (sic) on Wednesday, after which the remains were interred in the Champion Cemetery. Mrs. Holmes was born near Louisville, Ky. on Dec. 31, 1846, and removed with her parents to Missouri when 8 years of age, and from there to Kansas, where she was married to R.A. Holmes in 1868. They removed to Chase county in 1887 where they have since resided. The deceased leaves a husband and five children to mourn the loss of wife and mother. The heartfelt sympathy of all are extended to the bereaved family in this, their saddest hour of sorrow. Obituary provided by great granddaughter, Betty. There is a headstone with her name on it in Holyoke Cemetery, Holyoke, Phillips Co., CO, but she is buried in this cemetery.
