Mrs. Flemming died March 23 at St. Mary's Hospital in Pierre. The Rev. Kingsley and the Rev. Father Padula officiated at the Requiem High Mass. Clausen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Hannah Flemming was born March 21, 1885 at Daggett, Mich., and came as a bride to the Herrick community in 1902. She and her husband, Henry, homesteaded near Herrick and all of Mrs. Flemming's adult life was spent in this area, until the past few years when she made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Keymeier at Pierre. Mr. Flemming died in 1937. Survivors include her daughters, Mrs. Ethel Keymeier, Mrs. Paul Kelly and one son, Harold Flemming, all of Pierre, one sister, Mrs. Fred Gaestel of Herrick; and one brother, Robert Plutchak of Daggett, Mich. Flemming when she was 15 years old. Hannahs father was German and her mother was Polish. Henry and Hannah arrived in Bonesteel, SD in 1904 and was lucky enough to draw a 160 acre tract of land, 1 1/2 miles north of Herrick, SD. She was the mother of 5. Her two oldest were born dead (Herbert and Edna). Ethel born in 1906, Dorothy born in 1908 and Harold born in 1927.
