Hansen, 69 year old farmer and stockman of the Millerboro community, southwest of Creighton, were held in the Danish Lutheran church at Winnetoon last Thursday afternoon and attended by an assemblage of neighbors and friends that filled the church to capacity. The pastor, Rev. Andrew P. Staby, officiated. Interment was made in Greenwood cemetery here. Born in Fyor, Denmark, Jan. 9, 1870, Hans Christian Hansen was 69 years, nine months and 22 days old, when death claimed him Oct. 31, 1939. He emigrated to this country from Denmark, when a youth of 17, first locating in Woodbury county, Ia., where he worked as a farmhand. Subsequently, he went to Stanton county, Nebr. and in 1910 came to the Millerboro community. On October 27, 1910, he was united in marriage to Marie Nielsen. She, with two adopted children, LaVerne Hansen and Mrs. Floyd Nielsen, other relatives and a host of friends, are left to mourn his passing.
