Friedrichsen was born in Meggerdorf Kreis Schleswig, Germany, on August 3, 1850, and died at his home three miles north of Bouton Thursday, October 9, 1913. In 1869 at the age of 18 he came to this country and located in Jackson township, Iowa, where he resided until 1874, at which time he made a visit to the old country and stayed nine months, returning to Jackson township, and on March 29, 1876, he was united in marriage to Miss Katherina Gosch of Green Island, Iowa, immediately after which he and his wife... Friedrichsen was born in Meggerdorf Kreis Schleswig, Germany, on August 3, 1850, and died at his home three miles north of Bouton Thursday, October 9, 1913. In 1869 at the age of 18 he came to this country and located in Jackson township, Iowa, where he resided until 1874, at which time he made a visit to the old country and stayed nine months, returning to Jackson township, and on March 29, 1876, he was united in marriage to Miss Katherina Gosch of Green Island, Iowa, immediately after which he and his wife came to this part of the state and settled on their farm north of town. Nine children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Friedrichsen, three girls and six boys, two of the boys having died in childhood, those remaining are: Christiana, Henry, Jerry, John Ella and William. Besides his wife and children he leaves to mourn his departure three brothers and three sisters Rudolph Claus, Peter Katherina Elsabe and Christina; Peter, Katherisa and Christiana still live in Germany, the others reside here, and twelve grand children besides other relatives and a large list of friends. The funeral was conducted from the home at 11:00 a.m., October 11th, and from the North Peoples M.E. church at noon. Rev. Schwanfelder of Coon Rapids conducting the services in German and Rev. Boehm, of Ogden conducting them in English, and the remains were laid to rest in the church cemetery at that placeBouton Press.
