He was baptized on Sept. 5, 1902 in St. Paul's Lutheran church in Wayne. He attended the local schools. On Sept. 19, 1923 he was married to Nora Nelson. On Wednesday. Sept. 22, he... Read More	Wm. Nissen Funeral Rites Held Here Last Thursday William Nissen, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lauritz P. Nissen, was born on Aug. 20, 1902 in Wayne County. He was baptized on Sept. 5, 1902 in St. Paul's Lutheran church in Wayne. He attended the local schools. On Sept. 19, 1923 he was married to Nora Nelson. Since then they have spent their married life in Stanton County. Mr. Nissen was in the well-digging and repair business for many years in the Stanton area until poor health forced him to retire. . On Wednesday. Sept. 22, he suffered a stroke while at his home and died at a Norfolk Hospital Sept. 27. Those surviving are his widow. Nora, four sons, Marion of Massachusetts, Lyle of Anaheim, Calif. Stacy in the U.S. Air Force, presently stationed at El Paso. Tex. and Ivan of O'Neill. Also three daughters, Darlene Kumm of Wisner. Lois Hash of San Francisco. Calif. and Betty Koehlmoos of Pilger, nineteen grandchildren and one great granddaughter, one brother. Edward of Wayne and four sisters. Mrs. Elsie Christenson of Chambers, Nebr., Mrs. Sine Mlkkelson of Klamath Falls, Ore. Mrs. Agnes Nelson of Norfolk, and Mrs. Fred Brockmoller of Laurel and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister. Funeral services were held at the Stanton Methodist Church on Sept 30 with the Rev. H. L. Robertson officiating under the direction of the Shultz-Vogel Mortuary. Music was furnished by a mixed quartet composed of Mr. Louis Smithberger, Mrs. Verna McMahon. R. A. Greenslit and Henry Shultz. Organist was Mrs. George Benson. Jr. Pallbearers were Arthur Adams, Elmer Hajek. Elmer Zubar Jim Mandl, Jim Schultz and Val Leiner. Burial was at the Stanton cemetery.
