Mrs. Hansine Hansen Laursen, 88, a longtime resident of the Atlantic vicinity, died at 9 o'clock this morning at the Salem invalid home in Elk Horn, where she had lived the last three years. She had been ill for a month. Mrs. Laursen, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jorgen Hansen, was born in Denmark, Feb. 29, 1864 and came to this country in 1891. She was married near Elk Horn Aug. 12, 1891 to J.P.Laursen and they resided on a farm eight miles north of Atlantic 30 years prior to retiring and moving to Atlantic. The couple has made their home at Elk Horn since March 1949. Surviving besides the husband are four daughters, Mrs. Walter Nelson of Atlantic, Mrs. A.G. McCrory of Anita, Mrs. Alfred Sand of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Walter wittrup of Elk Horn; two sons, John Laursen of Atlantic and Chris Laursen of Denver; a brother, Chris Hansen living in Soelberg, Denmark; 22 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A daughter died in 1918. Funeral services are pending the arrival of relatives. The remains will be at the Roland funeral home until the morning of the funeral, when they will be taken to the Walter Wittrup home in Elk Horn. Interment will be in Oak Hill cemetery west of Brayton.
