He married Julie Satterwhite, daughter of James Andrew Satterwhite Sr. and Ida Ann Spears, on 12 March 1934 at Centerville, Faulkner County, Arkansas. He was born January 29, 1916 to Jessie Eugene Winter and Maggie Mae Walters Winter. He married Julie Satterwhite, daughter of James Andrew Satterwhite Sr. and Ida Ann Spears, on 12 March 1934 at Centerville, Faulkner County, Arkansas. He married Mary Kate Hicks before 1956 and he married Virlie Lou Miller after 1970. My dad loved to grow things, he had a garden up until the last 5 years or so that he lived. He loved chickens and raised them for many years. He was a very friendly man and never met a stranger. He was outspoken and always let you know how he felt about things if he agreed or not. He was funny and gave a lot of people some good laughs over a whole lot of years. We would have lengthy discussions at times and we did not always agree, he wanted everyone to agree with him though. When I would try to sway him to my way of thinking he would not budge, he would either say to me..."Put your boots on Sister" or "Go to bed Sister". Then we would both laugh and go on to another subject. People who knew him best remember him for his sense of humor and how he could grow anything, I always told him that he could put a broom handle in the ground and it would grow into a beautiful plant. Colon cancer took him from this life at the age of 89.
