Services were held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the First Christian Church - Disciples of Christ in Nevada with Dr. Fred C. Danforth officiating. Services were held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the First Christian Church - Disciples of Christ in Nevada with Dr. Fred C. Danforth officiating. Burial was in the Colo Cemetery with military rites by William F. Ball American Legion Post 48. He was born August 31, 1920 in New Albany Township, Colo, to Abner Eugene and Julia Hartness Moody. He served in the U.S. Navy. He married Ruth Leona Coleman on Sept. 1, 1940 in Missouri. He was a longtime Story County resident and retired from farming in 1988. He moved to the Iowa Veterans Home two years ago. He was a member of the William F. Ball American Legion Post 48 in Nevada. Survivors include three daughters, Jo Ann Butzloff of Melbourne, Judy Vickers of Loveland, CO and Janice Ferriss of Nevada; a son, Harlan "Butch" Moody Jr. of Cambridge; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Buchan and Nell Klar, both Marshalltown. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth, in 1995; a granddaughter; three brothers; and a sister. Chet Ryan Mortuary of Nevada was in charge of arrangements.
