Read More	* IN LOVING MEMORY OF * Harland George Wolken was born on Monday; January 22, 1923, in Marshall County, Iowa. He was the son of Walter and Ila (Goodman) Wolken. He graduated from the Ferguson High School in Ferguson; Marshall County, Iowa and enlisted in the United States Army. He served our country proudly during World War II in communications as a messenger in the signal corps and was also stationed in Germany. Harland was united in marriage to Peggy Weatherman at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Dillon. They farmed at their Gilman address until moving to Marshalltown to reside at Olive Estates and winter in Arizona. Harland enjoyed playing cards and cribbage, watching sports (he and Peggy went to the 1984 Olympics in LA), traveling, technology and treasured his family. Harland George Wolken, age 84, of the Olive Estates in Marshalltown; Marshall County, Iowa and formerly a farmer in the of the Gilman/Ferguson area, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at Saint Mary's Hospital in Tucson; Pima County, Arizona. Those left to mourn his passing are his sisters: Ruth (Claire) Goshon and Doris (Chet) Stubbs, both of Marshalltown; Marshall County, Iowa. Fourteen nieces, nephews and their families of many great and great-great nieces and nephews. His special friend and companion, Dorothy Dobson, several cousins and the Weatherman family. In death he has rejoined his parents, his wife, Peggy, sister Helen (Ray) Roggenbuck and brother Raymond (Henrietta) Wolken. May they rest in peace. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday; March 25, 2007. Funeral services and a celebration of Harland's life will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Monday; March 26, 2007 at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Dillon; Marshall County, Iowa with Pastor Fred Berry officiating. Interment will be at the Trinity Lutheran cemetery.
