Description	:	Harley Elwain Anderson was born January 16, 1925, on the family farm northeast of Wausa, Nebraska during a blizzard. Harley was the son of Rueben and Esther (Windell) Anderson. Harley died Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Golden Living Center, Wausa, Nebraska. Harley was baptized and confirmed at the Evangelical Covenant Church, Wausa, Nebraska. Read More	Harley Elwain Anderson was born January 16, 1925, on the family farm northeast of Wausa, Nebraska during a blizzard. Harley was the son of Rueben and Esther (Windell) Anderson. Harley died Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Golden Living Center, Wausa, Nebraska. Harley was baptized and confirmed at the Evangelical Covenant Church, Wausa, Nebraska. Harley attended Lawton country school near Wausa, Nebraska and high school in Wausa, Nebraska. He worked on the family farm until September of 1945, when Harley was drafted into the Army. He served with the 6th Division of the 56th Artillery. After basic training in Fort Bliss, Texas, Harley spent one year in Korea, and was honorably discharged at Camp Beal, California, in February 1947. On June 24, 1949, he was married to Lois Jean Jacob at Denver, Colorado. After their marriage they lived on the family farm northeast of Wausa, Nebraska until retiring and moving into Wausa, Nebraska in October of 1997. Harley was a member of Thabor Lutheran Church, Wausa, Nebraska serving on the Church Council, as a Luther League counselor, and ushering for many years. He served on the country school board, worked for the ASCA for a short time, and helped organize the Community Center. Harley is survived by: wife, Lois Jean Anderson of Wausa, Nebraska; children and their spouses, Jerry (Shirley) of Yankton, South Dakota, Curtis (Brenda) of Centennial, Colorado, Nina (Royce) Stein and Kevin (Emily) of Castle Rock, Colorado; grandchildren, Julie (Guy) DeCrescenzo of Broomfield, Colorado, Adam Anderson of Denver, Colorado, Tracy (Logan) Green of Thornton, Colorado, Becky Anderson of Centennial, Colorado, Eric Anderson of Columbia, Missouri, and Denise Stein of Tempe, Arizona; two great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Harley was preceded in death by: parents; sister, Janice (Melvin) Hanson; brothers, Gary and Leon Anderson and grandson, Brian Anderson. Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Wausa, Nebraska. Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Post #5824 of Wausa, Nebraska.
