When a small child, he with his parents spent a short time in Nebraska and Kansas. Later the family returned to Iowa and Harmon attended schools in Guthrie County. On June 1, 1909 he was united in marriage to Georgia Passmore who preceded him in death on Mother's Day in 1946. Six children were born to this union, three of whom died in infancy. Those who remain to mourn the loss of their father are: Frances Wasson of Panora, Neva Langgaard and Ruth of Guthrie Center, Three grandchildren, two sons-in-law, Dwight Wasson and Erwen Langgaard and a sister, Ola Ford, of Des Moines. His aged mother, also remains to mourn his departure, besides other relatives and many friends. His father and brother preceded him in death. Harmon, as he was known to his friends was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He was indeed a friend to the children.
