Description	:	Harold Burma, age 87, of Boone and the Eastern Star Masonic Home, died July 30, 2019 at the Eastern Star Home. Following his wishes, Harold has been cremated and a Graveside Service and burial of his cremains will be in the Thornton Cemetery in Thornton at a later date. Harold Alrich Burma, was born on January 7, 1932 in Buffalo Center, Iowa, the son of Alrich and Annie (Albers) Burma. He graduated from Thornton High School in Thornton, Iowa in 1950. On February 25, 1952, Harold enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served as an aircraft engine mechanic during the Korean War. On November 19, 1992, Harold married Maxine (Jordan) Grimes at Forsyth, Missouri. He worked for Central Iowa Farm Service in Boone before his employment at the Boone County Hospital and the former Heartland Health Center, as an engineer. Harold enjoyed collecting John Wayne memorabilia and moving to Missouri after he retired, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and raising miniature horses. He also served as a volunteer fireman for Lake Taneycomo Fire Department near Branson. He is preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Steven Burma, and a grandson, John Boyer. Harold is survived by his children, Shelley (Doug) Macek, Jody (Marty) Busch, Jeff Burma, and Mike (Dora) Burma all of Boone; his wife, Maxine of Johnston and her three daughters, Sue (Larry) Mersereau and Karee Anderson and husband Bob Monitz all of Des Moines, and Gina (Dan) Buzzell of Ogden; three sisters, Janice Dorenkamp of Thornton, Marge Swenson of Swaledale, and Shirley Nelson of Clear Lake; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
