Services were held April 20 at the Waukee Christian Church with burial in the Waukee Cemetery. Mr. Burger was born May 11, 1915 in Winterset, the son of Clarence and Fay Burger. He was retired from his job as a soil conservation contractor. He was a member of the Waukee Christian Church, Waukee Lion's Club and the Van Meter Masonic Lodge. Simmer of Clive; a stepson, Dean Hunter of Kansas City, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Karen Colwell of Marshalltown; one brother, Harvey Burger of Adel; two sisters, Margery Stamp of Lewis and Shirley Mitchell of Littleton, Colo.; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Nelda; two brothers and one sister.
