Description	:	HAROLD BARBER Harold Barber, son of A.H. and Mary Barber, was born on a farm near Ransom, Kansas, on March 26, in the year of nineteen hundred and two and departed this life in the Scott City Hospital on September 18, nineteen hundred and forty-one, at the age of 39 years, 5 months and 24 days. On October 16, 1923, he was united in marriage to Alice Alverta Rufenacht, who preceded him in death on August 25, 1928. To this union were born three daughters, all living. On October 12, 1930, he became a member and was baptized into the church of Christ. He remained true to this faith unto the end. Harold was a kind, loving father, son and brother. A willing worker and a true friend. His one great desire was to give his girls an education, and through all his many troubles this remained uppermost in his mind. He leaves to mourn his loss, three daughters, Faye La Verne, Betty Ann and Dorothy Jean of Ransom, his father and mother, 5 brothers and 6 sisters. Henry of Moulton, Iowa, Russell of Phoenix, Arizona, James of Dodge City, Kansas, Ralph and Adelbert of Ransom, Kansas. Mrs. R.D. Randall, Mrs. L.J. Schreiber and Hazel Barber of Ransom, Kansas; Mrs. A.H. Meisner of Denver, Colorado, Mrs. M.E. Murdock of Dodge City, Kansas. One brother preceded him in death at the age of five days. Fourteen nephews, five nieces, five great nieces, three great nephews and a host of relatives and friends. The funeral service was held Sunday afternoon, September 21, in the Methodist Church at Ransom. Brother Davis, church of Christ minister of Dodge City, delivered an impressive sermon to a large crowd. Rev. Albrecht of the Mennonite Church assisted him. He was carried to his last resting place by five nephews, Leslie Schreiber, Adelbert Schreiber, Gilbert Randall, Theron Randall, Joe Lyon and Le Roy Nimz. Ness Co. News, Sept. 25, 1941
