Lynn was born August 15, 1877, in Harrison County, Mo., the daughter of James and Elizabeth Lynn, and passed away at the Grisell Memorial Hospital in Ransom July 17, 1945, at the age of 67 years, 11 months, and 2 days. When three years old, in 1880, the family came overland by covered wagon to Kansas, and settled in Ness County on what is now known as the Clyde Hazen farm. Lynn was born August 15, 1877, in Harrison County, Mo., the daughter of James and Elizabeth Lynn, and passed away at the Grisell Memorial Hospital in Ransom July 17, 1945, at the age of 67 years, 11 months, and 2 days. When three years old, in 1880, the family came overland by covered wagon to Kansas, and settled in Ness County on what is now known as the Clyde Hazen farm. The family lived on this farm for four years, then moved to Chase County, near Cottonwood Falls. After living there one winter the family returned to the same claim in Ness County. Four years later the family moved to West Bend, Palo Alto County, Iowa. After about two years the family returned again to the original farm in Ness County. On September 15, 1894, she was united in marriage to Adelbert H. Barber, and to this union were born 13 children. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband and 11 children: Edith Randall and James of Ransom, Henry of Moulton, Iowa; Lelia Schreiber of Beeler, Elizabeth Dalrymple and Marie Murdock of Pratt, Russell of Tucson, Ariz.; Blanche Meisner of Wheatridge, Colo.; Ralph and Adelbert of the U.S. Navy, and Hazel of the home; one sister, Mrs. Etta Robinson of Ransom; 22 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Harold and an infant son preceded her in death. She was a member of the church of Christ and lived faithful in this belief to the end. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, bore her sickness with much patience, having no thought for herself, but was concerned only about her home and the comforts of her family. She will be sadly missed by her family as a mother leaves a place no other can fill. B.B. Harding of the church of Christ was in charge of the services, and interment was made in the Ransom cemetery July 22, 1945. Ness Co. News, Aug. 2, 1945
