Description	:	Harold B. Hoff age 82 of Valley City, ND died Wednesday February 12, 2014 at The Sheyenne Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM, Monday, February 17th at Trinity Lutheran church with Rev. Rich Fitzer officiating. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery later in the spring. Rich Fitzer officiating. Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery later in the spring. He was born May 7, 1931 in McLaughlin, S.D. son of Christ and Eva (Hertel) Hoff the 10th of 13 children. Harold lived with his parents on various farms in North and South Dakota. At the age of 17 he moved to Valley City and worked at Woolworth's and then Roy's Shoe Clinic. In 1952 he was drafted in to the U.S. Army where he spent time in Japan and Korea during the Korean conflict. After his return he partnered for 20 years with James Larson and formed L&H Shoe Shop. They also owned and operated a roller skating business for 20 years. On February 16, 1958 he married Shirley Kronke at Trinity Lutheran Church in Valley City. In 1964 Harold's love and passion for bowling lead to the incorporation of Sky Lanes with 3 other investors. In 1967 he began his 27 year career at Tri W-G incorporated. In addition to the bowling establishment and full time employment at Tri W-G he started his own upholstery business working evenings and week ends. Retiring from Tri W-G in 1994 he continued to work and partner with Jan Arneson forming Hoff and Jan's Upholstery. Harold's many interests included bow hunting, fishing, horseshoe pitching, bowling, roller skating and travel. He was an avid bowler since the age of 17 winning many trophies and awards including being inducted to the Bowling Hall of Fame by the Valley City Bowling Association. In the 1980's he began pitching horseshoe's at tournaments throughout N.D. and traveled to 12 world tournaments throughout the United States. He was a member of the VFW and an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Valley City. Harold entered the Sheyenne Care Center in March of 2012. He enjoyed having company, especially his brother Herb and other family members. He was a very hard worker, a great husband, father, grandfather and brother. His fun, happy and optimistic nature will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Shirley; his children Lee, Janice Berg, David, Mark, Carol Crandall; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Herbert and Howard; sisters Ella Duffy, Hertha Carlson and Alvera Sturm.
