Born December 12, 1918 in Castleton, Vermont, he was the youngest of six siblings of the late Claude L. and Sadie C. Fish Gibbs. He was a 1941 graduate of Castleton State College and received a Masters Degree from New York University. Born December 12, 1918 in Castleton, Vermont, he was the youngest of six siblings of the late Claude L. and Sadie C. Fish Gibbs. He was a 1941 graduate of Castleton State College and received a Masters Degree from New York University. Harold was a high school industrial arts teacher, who began his teaching career in Vermont and Long Island. In 1979 he retired from Lakewood, New Jersey High School after teaching there for 30 years. After retiring, he was a resident of Winter Haven, Florida until 2006 when he moved to Elizabethtown, Pa. to live with his son, Stephen, and his family. A veteran of World War II, Harold was a Life Member of the New Jersey and National Education Associations. He was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church and at the time of his death a member of the Donegal Presbyterian Church of Mt. Joy. While Harold was an avid golfer and ardent Boston Red Sox fan, his greatest love was his family. He was predeceased by wives, Bertha Hinckley, to whom he was married from 1944 to 1986, and Eleanor Collson, to whom he was married from 1987 to 2006 and by daughter, Emily Furtek, who died in 2005. Harold is survived by son, Stephen and wife Elizabeth, Elizabethtown, Pa., stepdaughter Ann Johnson and husband Tom, Hopewell, N.J., son-in-law Robert Furtek, Land O' Lakes, Fla., 7 grandchildren, Joseph Furtek, Richmond, Va., Matthew Furtek and wife Grace, North Ridge, Calif., Stephen Gibbs, Jr. and wife Bethany, Harrisonburg, Va., Daniel Gibbs and wife Amber, West Point, Va., Samuel Gibbs, Ben Gibbs, Ann Gibbs, at home, and two great grandchildren, Joshua Furtek and Daniel Gibbs, Jr.
