Read More	Obituary: In Loving Memory - Harold D Shriver May 15, 1922 - Nov. 26, 2015 Harold Shriver, age 93, passed away November 26, 2015 at Northcrest Living Center. He was born in Neola, Iowa on May 15, 1922 to the late Earl and Florence (Camenisch) Shriver. Harold attended school in Shelby County until the 8th grade. He left home at the age of 15 to work for Oatman Nielson in Shelby, Iowa. In February 1942, Harold and Neta (Walters) were married in Omaha, NE at the First Methodist Church. They then worked for Franz and Mary Haus - Harold doing the farm work and milking cows and Neta working in the main house and caring for the chickens. The couple lived in a small house on the farm, where their first child, Kathleen, was born. They started farming on their own on a farm north of Minden, Iowa 1959, the family moved to Logan, Iowa and farmed the Westering farm. In 1971, they purchased a farm in Washington Township. Harold was baptized into the Lutheran faith in Persia, Iowa. Harold and Neta enjoyed children and were foster parents to 13 children over the years. After moving into town in Persia, Harold remained active in the farming operation and bailing. He continued his hobby of restoring tractors and attending auctions. In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Neta Shriver; sisters Lucille Miller and Shirley Hoover; brother Elmer Shriver; brothers-in-law Wayne Hoover and Butch Miller; sisters-in-law Irene Shriver and Reta Coburn; father-in-law and mother-in-law Neil and Rosa Walters. He is survived by his children, Kathleen (Butch) Whistler of Plattsmouth, NE and Darwin (Barbara) Shriver of Council Bluffs, IA; 8 grandchildren, Yvette (William) Oloff of IA, Scot Willey of AK, Darin (Jill) Shriver of IA, Dawn (Brian) Witt of IA, Lynda Matthews of NE, Aaron (Tara) Shriver of NE, Kipp (Merideth) Erickson of TX, and Nadra (Rob) Bolduc of IN; 24 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brother, Ralph Shriver; sister-in-law Alice Shriver; many nieces and nephew, other relatives and friends. ******************************************************** Visitation: Tuesday, December 1, 2015 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home & Crematory Funeral Service: Tuesday, December 1, 2015 11:00 a.m. Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home & Crematory Officiating Clergy: Elder Kirk Parsons Community of Christ Church, Persia, Iowa Music Selections: "Amazing Grace" - "Here I Am Lord" Pallbearers: Steve Stamp, Greg Crozier, E.J.
