Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, with Father Brian Simon officiating. After the burial, a time for refreshments and fellowship will be held at Schriver's Memorial Fellowship Center. Harry passed away Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005 at his home. Harold E. Bruers was born Dec. 30, 1931 to Peter A. and Minerva E. (Benson) Bruers in Graceville, Minn. In 1939 they moved to Aberdeen where he attended Sacred Heart Parochial School and graduated from Aberdeen Central High in 1950. Harold and Signe Johnson were united in marriage Feb. 26, 1952 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Aberdeen. Harry was employed with Cenex until retiring and then drove vehicles for Harr Motors for 17 years. He enjoyed his cabin at Pickeral Lake and also liked to fish, hunt and loved to cook, that he did all the cooking. He was a member of Sacred Heart where he served as an usher for many years, and the U.C.T. Grand Council. Preceding Harry in death are his parents; one infant son, Edward Allen; one sister Marie Gilliam and two nieces, Katherine and Phyllis. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Signe of Aberdeen; his daughters, Karen (David) Gonsor of Aberdeen and Susan (Perry) Cooper of Colorado Springs, Colo.; his four grandsons, Carey (Susan) Gonsor, Peter Gonsor & Angie Schneider, Robert Cooper, Eric Cooper, and four great-grandchildren; Haley Gonsor, Zachary Gonsor, Cooper Gonsor and Zion Cooper. Pallbearers will be Kevin Johnson, Mike Waldrop, Jamey Schumacher, Ken Hallstrom, Dennis Hanson and Andrew Wipf. Published in the Aberdeen News on 1/30/2005.
