Born in Hopewell, he was a lifelong Hopewell-Pennington area resident. He was employed by RCA Corp. at the David Sarnoff Research Facility in Plainsboro retiring after 36 years of service. He was an U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II serving in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Hopewell VFW, the Scottish Rite Valley of Central Jersey and the Gothic Masonic Lodge #270 F&AM in Hamilton Square. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of of Titusville where he was an active deacon. Son of the late Edgar and Viola Leigh Temple and Ida M. Root Temple, husband of 42 years of the late Mary Jane Temple who died in 2002, brother of the late Robert Temple and Dorothy Sheppard; he is survived by a son, Richard D. Paul of Trenton; three brothers, Jerry and Janet Temple of Bridgewater, Vernon and Wilma Temple of Washington State, Wayne Temple of Florida; four grandchildren Candice Abbey, Austin and Bryce; several nieces and nephews; special friends of the family, Carmine and Denise. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church of Titusville, River Drive, Titusville with the Rev. William Shaub officiating.
