He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Bessie Lampley; two daughters, Teresa Phillips, and one infant daughter; one brother, Obie Lampley; one granddaughter, Amanda Long; his mother-in-law, Grace Rutledge; two brother-in-laws, Edward Rutledge, Jr., and Gene Reeves; and one sister -in-law, Lucille Reeves.
