Harold was born in Chanute, Kansas on July 25, 1916, the son of Cecil and Pearl (Hedden) Sharp. He was united in marriage to Vernetta Rankin on June 15, 1938. She preceded him in death in 1942. He married Ruby Nichols on Nov. 4, 1944. She preceded him in death on March 1, 2000. Harold worked as a welder and production supervisor for Churchill Manufacturing. Read More	************************ Published July 12, 2010 - Chanute, KS Harold Eugene Sharp, 93, of Wichita, Kansas, died Monday, July 12, 2010 at the Westview Nursing Home in Derby, Kansas. Harold was born in Chanute, Kansas on July 25, 1916, the son of Cecil and Pearl (Hedden) Sharp. He was united in marriage to Vernetta Rankin on June 15, 1938. She preceded him in death in 1942. He married Ruby Nichols on Nov. 4, 1944. She preceded him in death on March 1, 2000. Harold worked as a welder and production supervisor for Churchill Manufacturing. He was a member of the Steamfitters Union for 65 years. Survivors include a son, Neal Sharp and wife, Pam, of Chanute, KS; a daughter, Rosemary Lawrence and husband, Larry, of Wichita, KS; five grandchildren, Tracy (Sharp) King and husband, Alan, of Pleasanton, KS, Kelly (Sharp) Hamm and husband, Karl, of Waverly, KS, Lesly (Sharp) Lock and husband, Clark, of Chanute, KS, Shely (Sharp) Shade, of Topeka, KS, and Dr. David Lawrence and wife, Sharon, of Weatherford, OK; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Vernetta and Ruby; a grandson, Andrew Lawrence; and three sisters, Mary (Sharp) Cunningham, Cecyle Marie (Sharp) Stone, and Betty (Sharp) Leatherman; and a brother, Warren Sharp. Funeral will be Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel in Chanute, KS. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Chanute, Kansas. Memorials in his name may be made to Harry Hynes Hospice of Wichita, or to Castaways Animal Shelter of Chanute, and may be left with the funeral home. **********************
