He departed this life on April 14, 1971 at the age of 70 years., three months and 14 days at the Able Rest Home in St. Paul where he had resided for three years. He and Irene McAfee were married February 6, 1924 at Clarinda, Iowa. They farmed in Nance and Greeley Counties until his retirement in 1966 when they moved into Wolbach. He was... He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Wolbach. Mourning his passing are his wife, Irene; one son, Elvin Gress of Belgrade, a grandson, Kurt of Belgrade; four brothers, Glen of Fullerton, Elmer of Buena Park, California, Dean of Columbus and Gerald of Albion; and a sister, Mrs. Waldern (Eileen) Haney of Hastings. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ted, a sister Madeline and a grandson, Lonnie.
